This year for my 23rd birthday (March 19) i got an akai mpk mini II from my dad who i didnt have regular communication with until i was 17, and it was the catalyst to a great deal of growth. This tape represents so many things to me, the same way that every track ive ever put out does. Most notably though, id say this tape represents the purest form of support from a father to a son. Something that i haven't been extremely familiar with, but that i cherish so much and want create with my children. I had been meaning to start making beats for years. Im not sure what exactly about this exchange caused such a shift in me, ive had production equipment given to me, but what this did for me was open up a whole new but familiar world that was always just barely out of reach. I call it edd cuz as a child i related to him in a way that im still not quite able to articulate. every time i see this picture of him playing whatever you call that instrument i just feel understood. anyway peep it and hit me with the love and the feedback im tryna kill all yall producers now lol
